Dear January,

You arrived without knocking. Arms full of calendars, cough drops, and quiet lessons. You found me the very first week wrapped up in tissues and blankets, learning that sometimes the most productive thing we can do is rest.

But you didn’t let me stay still for long.

You carried me to the LMC session at the DEN, with the Best Class Ever 2026! The education session, where curiosity stretched its legs again, a living, breathing reminder that a Lifetime of Learning is not a slogan but a promise I keep making to myself.

You stacked my days with deadlines, paper trails and 1099s marching in rows; numbers blurring, imports crossing my eyes, like they, too, were tired. And somewhere between spreadsheets I accidentally drank ambition in liquid form, a protein latte laced with espresso shots. Jittery proof that even fuel can come with a warning label.

You gave me community too.

A joyful shoutout moment, Jen Moore fellow LMC traveler, hosting a vendor showcase that felt more like a celebration than networking. Connection dressed up as opportunity. You let me stand inside leadership energy at Live2Lead. Not just attending but setting the stage literally and figuratively for growth to happen in the room.

And because you believe in balance (even when I forget), you slipped in a Mandatory Saturday, balloons, décor, and laughter; decorating Crystal’s office for her birthday turning obligation into joy. Then….finally… you exhaled. You guided me to a closing chapter written in softer ink: a self-care day, where time slowed its pulse and filled the spaces I’d been pouring from all month.

So Dear January,

You were equal parts challenging and demanding, jitter and joy, deadlines and deep breaths. You stretched me, shook me, and taught me, and then kindly, you let me rest. Year-end closing complete. 1099s filed. With tired eyes, a full heart, and lessons filed where they belong.

Until next year,

Jen

P.S. Grateful doesn’t feel like a big enough word for the BBK team. To our incredible, supportive directors, and my fellow team leads; your kindness, encouragement, and help carried me through the longest days of January. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

And to my friends and family: thank you for being my constant, my listening ear, and my safe place. Always there. Always love.
